Join us on the 11th of June 2011 @ 10:30 am at LELIEBLOM FARM in Darling where we will set a festive table for a morning of glamorous Sugar Cake creations!!

LINDA KNOP of SUGAR CAKES will demonstrate the exquisite art of creating spectacular sugar cake decorations. Each lady will create her own little novelty animal under the careful guidance of Linda's master hand.

Paintings and hand painted greeting cards by TANIA O'CONNOR,author of HELLO LEWE, will be for sale

JAYGE CARSTENS author of several books will open the morning with a few motivational words to get us all in high spirits for a creative morning full of fun and laughter!

We had great fun and laughter and miles of sausage. lovely eisbeins, salami, bacon and chorizo etc. The day's activities ended with a heart warming meal on this rainy day at the farmhouse. At last we have our first cottage ready for guests to sleep over!

Lelieblom cottage sleeps a family of 5 or 4 single guests and is self-catering.

Lelieblom is a real natural down to earth Swartland farm where we offer old fashioned hospitality, peace and quiet, the silence at the end of the day only broken by farm animals discussing the day's farming activities. At night starry skies with the Milky Way running like a highway through the night sky.

Guests are welcome to walk in the veld to enjoy or beautiful wild flowers in Spring of which quite a few are on the endangered list and also maybe view something wild and shy peeping through the fynbos.

In winter our veld is green and lovely and even in summer after the wheat harvest is over we are left with beautiful golden fields of "stoppellande" as the farmers call them. In the late afternoon and early evening the havested wheat fields are bathed in a golden and sometimes golden pink glow of the setting sun with purple mountains in the back towards Riebeek Kasteel.

Come and restore your soul, forget about the stress of your job for a while, leave the noise of the city and traffic, exhaust fumes and all that behind for a weekend or midweek break and book into Lelieblom Cottage.
